Lake Bled!

On Sunday the guys had an away game in Innsbruck, So the girls all decided to go to Lake Bled in the early evening and for dinner! I have never been there and it was so beautiful to see! I would like to go back sometime soon with Kevin and go up to the castle and take a boat out to the island! It is only 40 minutes from Ljubljana!

Lake Bled is a glacial lake in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia.

The lake surrounds Bled Island, the only natural island in Slovenia. The island has several buildings, the main one being the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary, built in the 15th century, where weddings are held regularly.

The lake is also well known among rowers because it has very good conditions for the sport. It hosted the World Rowing Championships in 1966, 1979, 1989 and 2011.

The Girls!

The medieval-era Bled Castle stands above the lake on the north shore. According to written sources, it is the oldest Slovenian castle and is currently one of the most visited tourist attractions in Slovenia.

Panoramic Lake Bled!

We had dinner at this restaurant it was very good! We just split 3 pizzas 2 salads and 1 liter of red wine and it was only 40 Euro!

Look at the mountains in the background!

Nice fire pit!

Slovenian Word of the Day:
Jezero means Lake
