Växjö is the closest large city to Tingsryd. Its about a 45 minute drive of just countryside, horses and cows! So it feels like forever! These are pictures from a bunch of different times going to Växjö, we go there often! We actually went there last night for dinner at Venezia, an Italian Restaurant and then saw the movie the Campaign with 2 other couples from the team!
Växjö has a population of 64,200. The city's name is believed to be constructed from the words "väg" (road) and "sjö" (lake), meaning the road over the frozen Växjö Lake that farmers took in the winter to get to the marketplace that later became the city. Växjö is the home of Linnaeus University, as well as many sports clubs- Östers IF (football- as we know it "soccer"), Hovshaga AIF (football), Växjö Lakers Hockey Club (which is currently in the Elitserien- top league in Sweden), and the Växjö Vipers (Swedish floor-hockey).

It was unfortunate that they only serve Pizza on Sunday's and Monday's, because we really wanted to try there fresh homemade pasta that we heard great things about! But the Pizza was really good! :)
