Nyhavn was constructed by King Christian Vin 1670-1673. It was dug by Swedish war prisoners during the Dano-Swedish war 1658-1660. Nyhavn is a gateway from the sea to the old inner city at Kongens Nytorv (King's Square), where ships handled cargo and fishermens' catch. It was notorious for beer, sailors, and prostitution. I love all the scandinavian flags right here at the end of the canal!
The northern side of Nyhavn (odd numbers) is lined by brightly coloured townhouses built with wood, bricks, and plaster. The oldest house, at No. 9, dates from 1661.
The southern side of Nyhavn (even numbers) has lavish mansions lining the canal, notably Charlottenborg Palace at the corner of Kongens Nytorv.

Shrimp cocktail and 1/2 grilled lobster. Not impressed with the food! Lobster was very dry.
Copenhagen is the bike capital!
This guy played the accordion by us the whole dinner! I liked it! :) We tipped him 15 Krona!
Kevin and I enjoyed a nice Irish Coffee on Nyhavn Street after dinner at this cool little basement bar called Barock's! I've never had a real Irish Coffee before it was delicious! One-part brown sugar, one-part Irish Whiskey, coffee, fresh whipped cream, and coco powder sprinkled on top! :) We asked the bartender where we should head next and they suggested Rosie Mcgee's! So we checked it out it was so much fun! Live music, dancing, drinking, and being with my baby! We stayed there the rest of the night and then walked back to the Hotel!
