Auto, Vliegtuig, Bus, Trein!

Car, Plane, Bus, Train! (in Dutch) Every way of transportation it took us to get to Amsterdam! 12 hours of travel to get there but we got there! :)

Last Sunday we all decided at the last minute to book a flight to Amsterdam for Monday returning on Friday. We booked it through ryanair.com they have the best deals and cheapest flights while you are in Europe. You must check in online and print off you boarding passes before heading to the airport because since they are so cheap they look for all these hidden fees to charge you if you forget to do something. They will charge you 60 Euro at the check in desk to print you boarding pass. You are only allowed one bag- no purse or any extras or they will charge you, and the bag cannot be that big.  If you would like to check a bag there is a 30 Euro charge, which isn't so bad.

Our flight was out of the Venice Trevisio Airport, which can be confusing because the big airport in Venice is Marco Polo and they have signs for that and not Trevisio and if anyone has ever driven on the Italian Autostrade if you miss your exit there will not be another for like 30-50 KM! So we got lost and we all have been there at least 2 times but can never seem to remember which way to go. We started our day at 8:30 AM! It took us 3 hours to get to Trevisio and it should of took us 2! We were getting really close to the time they start boarding the flight so we were getting a little nervous but then we arrived at the airport and saw our flight was delayed for 3 hours! The other half of our group went in a separate car and ended up at the other airport in Venice and just took a cab to the one in Trevisio because they had no idea how to get there and they were worried that they would miss the flight. So after all the stress subsided we all sat around the airport all day and played card games, made some bets, and ate some free sandwiches they offered for the delay!

I won like 10 times in a row ;)

Flight from Italia to The Netherlands!

The pretty alps we flew over on our flight! Couldn't see them on the way there but took this picture on the way home!

Our flight landed around 5 PM in Maastricht, which is in the south part of The Netherlands. We then had to take a 30 minute trip on a bus to the Train Station! Photo of Maastricht Train Station!

Full bus! had to stand the whole time!

The Netherlands is a lot like Copenhagen, Denmark! Bicycle Country!

The train was really nice and had free wi-fi the whole way to Amsterdam! We snuck into first class! But we were all starving the trip!

Grand Central Station Amsterdam!

We arrived in Amsterdam around 8 PM!

Mcdonald's was our first meal in Amsterdam! We were all so starving and just wanted something quick! Dank U!

Getting to Amsterdam was easy but getting back to Maastricht was a little more difficult when we left on Friday morning at 6 AM. Since there was no direct trains to Maastricht we had to hop onto one in that direction and then switch trains until we were on the right one! Traveling can be stressful! But getting home after figuring our what train we should be on the rest of the day was a piece of cake. It was a beautiful clear sunny day, our flight got in 30 minutes early, and when we arrived in Ljubljana there was sunshine! Something I haven't seen in a couple of months! :)
