Cinque Terre is made of 5(cinque) charming villages overlooking the sea. Nestled between La Spezia to the east and Genoa to the West. We were really excited to hike all the village and then we were sad to find out that is not possible. Due to the mudslides that happened about 7 years ago a lot of the trails have been damaged and not yet restored. So we did the hikes we could and then trained to the other villages. We stayed at an AirBnB in Riomaggiore so that is where our journey began. The towns below are not listed in order just the order that we saw them in. Riomaggiore is located all the way to the east and next to that heading west is Manarola, then Corniglia, then Vernazza, then finally Monterosso, which has a very nice beach. So the hike was closed between our village and Manarola and between Manarola and Corniglia. So we took the train to Monterosso and hiked from there to Vernazza and got some delicious caprese and pasta for lunch. I am still dreaming about that lunch! It was so good. Then we hiked from Vernazza to Corniglia. In Corniglia was got some delicious Gelato to get our energy back up! Then we trained to the rest! It was a beautiful day. Each hike they said would last 2 hours. The first I think we did in 1:20 and the second seemed shorter at just one hour. It was such a nice couple days soaking up the land, sun, and sea in Cinque Terre!
Uno - Riomaggiore
Due - Monterosso al Mare
Tre - Vernazza
Quattro - Corniglia
Cinque - Manarola
peace & love,
