Mom & Dad Visit Italy!

Final Stop: our home in Italy!

Now South Tyrol (the region we are currently living in) is much different then the rest of Italy. It was a part of Austria until after the First World War in 1919 so they still speak German as their first language. They also have their own language called Ladin. They are the richest providence in Italy and the European Union. It's economy has also been constantly strong while the rest of Italy took a hit. They are a large producer of Apples and their white wine is renowned. They use a lot of resources within their community to keep the economy strong!

View from our window you can see the dolomites!

Road trip to Cortina (about 1 hour from our home) to see Kevin play for the Italian National Team. They were in the olympic qualifier.

My Favorite Pizza! That isn't available in Bruneck (they have different ingredients for their pizzas) but Cortina is more of an Italian town. Salsiccia, Rucola, Uovo, Grana, con Olio Piccante. I ordered in Italian and the waiter laughed at me, but he didn't screw up my order. I guess I haven't been able to use my Italian all year :(

Game Selfies!

Go Kevin Go! #15

Italy beat Serbia their first game and The Netherlands their second!

Cortina d'Ampezzo was the host town of the 1956 Winter Olympics. The Cortina Games were unique in that many of the venues were within walking distance of each other. Its a really awesome town!

Dinner the second night in Cortina- Carpaccio and Red Wine!

Blue Team!

They beat Great Britain the second night and Italy won the tournament going on to the last and final olympic qualifier that will take place in September!

Pic of Kevin and Pippo during Serbia Game.

Pic of Kevin scoring against The Netherlands.

Back to Bruneck and we finally get Kevin to join in our adventures. My Dad, Kevin and I went up to Kronplatz for lunch and to check out the view.

Mountains forever.. Dad sported the Italia Jacket!

Kev and Dad!

Corones for Lunch!

Traditional Dish- Knödel (dumplings with speck and cheese in brodo) they are delicious!

The Guys got the Knödel in goulash.

We stopped at K-1 apres ski for one and ended up staying until close! Don't know where the day went!

Goodnight Bruneck!

Mom, Kevin, and I walked around Bruneck their final day here and went to Pur for lunch. Mom found a wooden spoon to take home (to go with the one she purchased last year in Asiago)

Thats the end of their trip until next time!

peace & love,
K . A . M
