Mom and Dad came for a visit for a week in February!
I picked them up at the airport in Innsbruck!
Our first stop was the Neuschwanstein Castle located in Hohenschwangau, Germany. Lucky it was such a beautiful day!
We walked around the village and got a Bratwurst for lunch!
Mom found a Christmas store and was happy she could buy a German Santa! We were told that the Germans invented the christmas ornament.
The castle has appeared prominently in several movies such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Great Escape and serves as the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The Neuschwanstein castle was built for only one person – the King Ludwig II. Neuschwanstein is so immense though, that in some days it is visited by up to 6000 tourists.
After the Castle we ended up in Munich for the night and stayed at the Art Hotel Munich. It was very nice!
Ventured around Munich and walked most of the city!
New Town Hall host the city government. I love its Gothic Revival Architecture! It's so decorative.
In the same square is the Old Town Hall built in 1310. Re-designed in late-gothic style by Jörg von Halsbach 1470-1480.
For dinner we had to experience a beer garden with German style dishes so we ventured to another part of Munich to Augustiner-Keller! It was a very good choice and glad we did the walk! This same location opened in 1812 as a beer repository owned by Büchl brewery, but there was a general ban on serving food in wine and summer cellars until 1842 and then it was known as the finest in Munich. Then purchased by Augustiner Brewery in 1862. In 1896 the renovations were made of what the location looks like today! Could you imagine who came there for beer and dinner in the last 120 years!
I love Weissbier
mmm Schnitzel
Apple Strudel for dessert with vanilla sauce and fresh whipped cream.
On the grounds of Augustiner they have fire pits and some bavarian curling.
Good night Munich
Euro Style complimentary breakfast at the Art Hotel Munich!
Another beautiful day!
We were there at noon and able to see the figurines in the tower twirl around.
We finally found moms donut in the morning before we hit the road!
It was pretty good!
Ciao Munich until next time!
peace & love,
