Las Ramblas is a famous street in central Barcelona for tourists and locals! The tree-lined pedestrian mall, stretches for 1.2 kilometers between Barri Gòtic and El Raval, connecting Plaça de Catalunya in the centre with the Christopher Columbus Monument at Port Vell. We learned you must be careful walking down Las Ramblas it is a prime spot for pick pocketing. Barcelona is one of the worse places in the world for that. There are street performers the whole way along the streets of Las Ramblas. Most of them are human statues, but you can also find flexible dancers, musicians, magicians and marionettes. If you stroll along the street you will find a variety of souvenir shops and kiosks that sell ice-cream, churros, hand-made candles, pastries and chocolates, as well as the typical newspaper kiosks.

There is a Dunkin Donuts in Barcelona! They still didn't have American coffee... You can't find it anywhere here! Cafe Americano is just a shot of expresso mixed with hot water!
The Monte Carlo!
Tapas are a wide variety of appetizers, or snacks, in Spanish cuisine that can be served hot or cold. In select bars in Spain, tapas have evolved into an entire, and sometimes sophisticated, cuisine. In Spain, patrons of tapas can order many different tapas and combine them to make a full meal. The serving of tapas is designed to encourage conversation because people are not so focused upon eating an entire meal that is set before them. The word "tapas" is derived from the Spanish verb tapar, "to cover". There area a ton of different varieties of tapas!
We had to try them! When in Spain! Getting a drink and some tapas before dinner! I got a goat cheese, tomato, and walnut tapas and it was really good! Kevin got a zucchini omelette tapas, he enjoyed it!

The Columbus Monument The monument serves as a reminder that Christopher Columbus reported to Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand V in Barcelona after his first trip to the new continent.
