Yesterday we traded in our car for a new BMW X1drive! I love it so much more! This one is an Automatic instead of manuel! BMW A-Cosmos Ljubljana is a sponsor for the Olimpija team! Which we couldn't be happier driving a brand new BMW around. Thank you BMW A-Cosmos!

Barcelona! Viaje y Estancia!

Barcelona! Travel and Stay!

Kevin, Brock, Missy and I All went to Barcelona during the National Team break last week. The boys got the time off because the Slovenian, Italian, France, and Austrian teams all had a tournament in Ljubljana! We left Slovenia on Monday drove to the Venice-Trevisio Airport and flew with Ryan Air to Barcelona! You can find the best deals traveling with Ryan Air from Europe to Europe. The downfalls: print boarding pass before because its so cheap they will charge you, you are only allowed one bag (no purse, no checked luggage) or they will charge you, and you do not get assigned seats so everyone just sits where they want and they wait in a huge line at the gate. We weren't really aware of this so we were at the end of the line and Kevin and I weren't even sitting together at first. Half way through the flight the flight attendants started talking to me and wondering where I was from because I spoke English. I told them our story of how I am over here living with my boyfriend who plays hockey in Slovenian and they asked well where is he? and I pointed up to him about 10 rows and the flight attendants were so nice they moved us to the first row seats of the plane so we could sit together! :) On our flight home it ended up booking us with another airlines called Vueling which was just like Ryan Air except they chose our seats for us when we printed our boarding passes at the counter. When we landed in Venice though our  flight home landed at a different airport, Marco Polo Airport Venice than our flight that took off so we had to find a way to our car at the other airport when it landed. Which usually shuttle buses run but we landed so late, they were done for the day. So our only option was to take a cab and it was not cheap for the 4 of us, with the tolls, and the 20 minute drive it cost 90 euro! not cool!

Detroit's Broderick Tower!

The Broderick Tower is now open in Detroit as of yesterday it has received its certificate of occupancy from the City of Detroit! It now means residents can officially move in for the first time in 27 years, the Broderick is back up and running! My father has been working as a carpenter on this project for the last 1 1/2 years and my best friend and her husband just moved in yesterday! 

All you Detroit natives may have always recognized the Broderick by it's memorable humpback whale mural on the rear facade of the building that was painted by Metro-Detroit native eco-artist, Wyland, and was dedicated on October 13, 1997. Located right next to Comerica Park and Ford Field. The Broderick was the second largest tower in Michigan when completed in 1928, and the third tallest abandoned building in the United States in 1985 and now is a symbol of Detroit's rebirth! The Tower originally opened in 1927 as the Eaton Tower after the investor and developer, Theodore H. Eaton who came to Detroit in 1838. Eaton bought a run down drug store in the American Hotel block where the city's landmark Renaissance Center is today and developed much more around Detroit!

Last Summer Kevin and I went to the opening tour of the Broderick Tower on Opening Day for the Tigers! My Friend, Heather, wanted me to meet her there to show me her new home! At the time it was just drywall and unfinished. I would love to see pictures of the completed work! Below are pictures I took of the views out the windows of the tower!

Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas!

These Enchiladas are so amazing! Kevin and I made them when we were living in Sweden and then again here in Slovenia when we had another couple over for dinner! Both times no left overs! Kevin and I love mexican we make it once a week!

Today is game day! The boys have a home game tonight against Salzburg Red Bull.. Hope Olimpija wins!!! They need the win!

Total Time: 45 Minutes

Ingredients:
1 lb. Chicken breast
1 medium onion
1 bell pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
8 flour tortillas
1 1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1 (15 ounce) can chicken broth
1 cup sour cream
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies

Directions:
1. Dice up chicken breast, chop onions, and chop bell pepper.
2. Place olive oil in frypan, cook chicken, onion, and bell pepper over medium heat till chicken is just done.
3. Divide chicken evenly between 8 tortillas and add about 1 1/2 tablespoons of cheese to each tortilla.
4. Roll the enchiladas and place seam side down in a 9x13 baking dish, which first should be sprayed or spread with butter so there is no sticking.
5. Melt butter in a medium saucepan, then stir in the flour which makes a roux, stir until bubbly then mix in chicken broth, then bring to boil.
6. Remove from heat, stir in sour cream and green chilies, then take that sauce and pour evenly over enchiladas in the baking dish.
7. Top with remaining cheese, and bake at 400°F (204°C) for 20 minutes until the cheese is melted.
8. Enjoy :)

Halloween at the Cirkus!

The night before Halloween (Devil's Night) the boys had a game that sadly they lost 3-4. After the game we sometimes all go out to eat at a restaurant. Lately it has been this pizza place pretty close to the rink. I do not eat because all the girls get fed during the game unlimited amounts of wine, bread, cheese, cold meats, olives, pickles, tomatoes, fried chicken, and apple strudel! It's all pretty amazing! Kevin got the vegetarian lasagna after the game and he said it was really good! After dinner we all decided to go out to the bar that night at this huge club called Cirkus! It was a lot of fun we enjoyed the night in VIP and the music was great! It was the Fools Gold party and The DJ that night was Dean Deen & Cleek! The clubs stay open much later here in Europe we got there at midnight and it wasn't even packed yet and left at 3 and it was crowded and people were still arriving! They close at 5 to 6 am put will stay open until everyone leaves! Also the bathroom at the club is co-ed which was a bit of a surprise for me! I just had Kevin come with me! :) Also people don't really dress up too much for Halloween in Europe which I am completely fine with!

On Halloween Kevin had the day off which was very nice to get to relax and spend the day together! We started our day with a 45 minute walk to our car since we got a taxi home the night before that cost 26 euro and it only cost 6 euro to get there which didn't make sense! They really up-charge there prices late at night!

 The dance floor was packed all night!

Kevin already been growing his Mustache out for Movember! He has been getting points every game he's had it going for the last 5 games!

Today is the first day of November! That means my least favorite month is over! I've never liked October and never really cared for Halloween! This is the start of the Holiday Season my favorite time of year! I can start listening to Christmas music and making snowflakes! :) Today is also All Saints Day which means that everything is completely closed! I tried to go to the gym this morning and was very disappointed to see it closed! Thank God there was one grocery store open because Kevin and I didn't have much food for the rest of the day! We go grocery shopping by the day here, not just all at once like back home. The food doesn't last as long because there are no preservatives and we like i fresh and it gives us something to do each day!
